Aloha Friend,

It started with my beautiful life partner Davi embarking upon a journey to reach the healthiest level she has ever reached. For those of you who know her, you will know she is not in bad shape. Nonetheless this worthy step into her journey has her very excited. She is a LoliPreneur, moving into her journey to transform who she is today.

In her quest, she has shared with me some really cool information. I must warn you, this information is nothing earth shattering. However how it is presented I found to be BAMDIGIOUS!

Told you it would not be earth shattering. It is not news that what happens in the kitchen feeds the body. So it is with our mind. This is the connection. What happens to our minds is what we feed it.

WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR MIND KITCHEN?

Your mind is fed by the conversations you have, the books that you read and the TV that you watch. Those are the ingredients you work with. The conversations are affected by the people that surround you. And in our day and age, those conversations are not just live face to face but they extend to Texting, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Blogs. Online and Offline.So what ingredients do you cook with in your mind kitchen? Are you feeding your mind to create the person you want to be? Are you cooking to create a master piece life?

3 Steps

Define who you want to become. Write on a piece of paper and stuff it in an envelope. One great way to complete this exercise is to ask yourself if the Times reporter came to interview your spouse, your best friend and your siblings 25 years from now; what would they say about your achievements, who you are and what you represent.
Monitor what you do Today. Over the next 7 days, diarize what you do every day in a 30 min segment.
Highlight the activities that lead to what The Times reporter would have written about YOU

A lot of my student have found it difficult to,track what they do over 7 days. Most last 3 to 4. If you desire TRUE Transformation, you must be prepared to DO and Face The Brutal Truth.

Firestarter…Burning Desire

Here we go again! I will fess up. I forgot I had labeled the spring episodes as Season 2. My excuse is that I just turned 45 and therefore losing memory. Sad Well since this is my blog, I have decided that this will be Season 3 with 13 episodes, so for those of you who are pretty finicky ( in my corporate world, we would call it High Compliance) my apologies as I have dubbed the first episode to be part of Season 2.

It is season 3 Episode 1.

Some Of The Lessons from my Father

it is simple really for today. It was Father’s Day this past Sunday. As I continue to learn from my past, I realize how influential how my Dad was on me. How I love my wife? How I love my kids? How I love my community? My Dad dedicated his life to family, to his faith and to his community? My mom and him were of service when the community needed service from those who could lend a hand. Even with challenges and hardships, my siblings and I never felt any of it. We traveled the world, we saw places our friends in that time never had a chance to see. It was for the family, it was for the kids. My dad was an only child who grew up to be a man with the biggest of hearts and lotsa love to give. Building on the Foundation him and my mom laid for us is the greatest honor I have to thank him for who he is. Mahalo Nuy Loa Dad! …. Roll The Vid…

How To Achieve Mastery in Any Field You Desire?

Here we go for Year Number 2 of Transformation. So are you a LoliPreneur? Have you set your site on transforming the world? I am sure that at someone point in life you thought about it. There were 3 questions Brendon Burchard asked after he survived a life threatening car accident ( I learned this when I met him in DC).

How did I Live? - How did I Love? – How did I Matter?

These are Profound Questions. How would you answer them? Today I will spend some time sharing the question of How did I Matter? As I have shared on my last post What is a Lolipreneur?, LoliPreneurs look into putting value into the world. That is how we matter. In order to achieve this goal to matter, a LoliPreneur looks in to increasing her knowledge in an area of passion. The level of your ‘Matter’ increases proportionally with your level of Mastery.

In his book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell offers the 10 000 hours rules. In his research from Bill Gates to The Beatles, he noted this some what magic number of 10 000 hours which was mentioned in one way, shape or form by these successful people. This number equates to working on one area for 40 hours/wk, 5 days/wk, 52 weeks/yr for 5 years. Yes, 5 years. On what have you spent 5 years working this hard on. Michael Angelo had said if people only knew how long and hard the road it took him to get to where he was when he painted his masterpieces; they would never start. Our society is heading down towards the easy, the instantaneous. Our children look for instant gratification in a very short time and the least effort. He who promises such a life is selling you a bridge.

How I learned that Faith Alone is not Enough.

this will be my last post in a series of four, sharing my thoughts on the Fear, Faith and Failure. Today, I would like to share in the spirit of this Easter how I have come to gain a deeper understanding about FAITH from my personal experiences in seeing what my Dad has shared with me in his FAITH. This Easter Monday Post is dedicated to my Dad, Narut Kang, born in the year of the Dragon. Hence the Dragon Egg above. He taught me the Power of Faith. Now you might not believe in his FAITH but I invite you to listen to the video because you will understand that FAITH is not about religion but about beliefs and that beliefs alone are not enough. Thoughts Start It All. Faith Fuels It All. But another ingredient needs to be added to your journey of continued transformation towards success.

Fear, Faith and Failure

Aloha Friend,

50 – 50. I talked about it last week. Every decision you make has a 50-50 chance to be the right one or the wrong one. 20 -20 is the hindsight. When all falls into place, only then will you know if you have succeeded or failed. So how come most people continue to make decisions based on the 50% that it might go wrong. Why do we live in this constant state of fearing for the worst? Have we really started with this in our DNA? In looking at a baby learning to walk, being in a sense fearless; I conclude very easily that no, we were not born with this innate sense of fearing the worst. Sure there is a little bit of fear however it is beaten back with the faith that it is possible. One other interesting thing to note is that during that time, the baby’s environment is supportive. That support also is not blind. The supportive environment is built in faith that the baby can and will walk.

If we maintain that same environment, we noticed in most cases transformation, success and achievement is reached. This week, I share a personal event which I have never shared this publicly. One experience I have noted clearly defines how Fears made me miss an opportunity, another shows how Faith allows me to build my ‘dream life’ and how my constant way of failing helps me grow, transform and thoroughly enjoy my Journey.

Failure vs. Failing (Part 2)

as I have shared with you last week, I have failed many times and I am looking forward to fail some more. What I am avoiding like the plague is to become a failure and that happens when you quit. This week I will share with you my first monumental failure at the start of my corporate career. It was a doozy. As I have said with you last week, I have never considered I have done to be a failure. I have failed most certainly but have never been a failure. I will share with you the tips of how I have come to handled my mistakes. I will also discuss my views on Fear and how it affects Failing. So as usual, let’s ROLL THE VID.
