Will your Adversity make you BITTER or BETTER?

Aloha Friend,

Happy New Year! Yes I am back with a Hiatus of 6 months plus.

I won’t delay today. This is the start of season 3. I plan to put 13 episodes in 3 season this year starting this week.

Yes. 2012 was PRODIGIOUS Year for me mentally, spiritually and financially. Now, I have been neglecting my blog on personal development. My purpose in life is to Help others achieve their dreams and I have been doing just that. If you have subscribed to my blog on the link to the right of this screen, you would have seen a great testimonial of one of my students. I love it to see another person whom I have been blessed enough to cross paths with and had the honor to participate in their success journey.

The purpose of this blog was to reach a larger group of individuals but the prospect of working closely with engaged LoliPreneur took more time than anticipated.

Aside from neglecting my blog, I have also neglected my Fitness balance. I stopped exercising as regularly as I used to. I stopped being as careful on what I ate. The result, I am now at 187lbs and about 19% body fat. Which brings me to today’s message.

Will adversity make you BITTER OR BETTER?

I have all the justification and excuses in the world to explain why and how time ran short for me to maintain my level of fitness balance from the beginning of 2012 when I weighed 178 and had 12% body fat. I could mention that I feel older and that I do not have the same stamina and energy.

All these ideas were running rampant in my mind and I had a field day laying on the couch. Yes, I did.

Than I heard a message from Michael Jordan.

“You are only a failure when you start making excuses”

OUCH! It hit home!

How can I stay authentic to my message of the 4 Pillars of a PRODIGIOUS Life?

So I re-read my blog and the lesson I got from my Grandfather: How to build your house of Success

Then I realized my 2012 life was Good but not Great. It was Excellent but Not PRODIGIOUS.

I had started down the path of FAILURE because I looked at excuses.

Differentiate between EXCUSES and SYMPTOMS

EXCUSES are things your mind makes up to tell you why you CAN’T.

SYMPTOMS are real results affected by your actions.

So here’s what I have done.

  1. List all my EXCUSES
  2. Translated them into SYMPTOMS
  3. And replace the actions I took that yielded those SYMPTOMS TO ACTIONS that drive toward my vision

I invite you to do the same especially as you are going towards your success journey. Some of you might have set resolutions, others not. That really does not matter. The question is:

Are your actions congruent to your vision? Are they takingYOU on the Road of Success you have defined?

In my case they were not. Adversity is making me BETTER. I CHOOSE not to be BITTER and live in my world of EXCUSES.

I choose to be the VICTOR and no longer the VICTIM!

LIVE A BAMDIGIOUS LIFE!

TYPS!

Failure vs. Failing (Part 2)

failure and fear and transformationAloha Friend,

as I have shared with you last week, I have failed many times and I am looking forward to fail  some more. What I am avoiding like the plague is to become a failure and that happens when you quit. This week I will share with you my first monumental failure at the start of my corporate career. It was a doozy. As I have said with you last week, I have never considered I have done to be a failure. I have failed most certainly but have never been a failure. I will share with you the tips of how I have come to handled my mistakes. I will also discuss my views on Fear and how it affects Failing. So as usual, let’s ROLL THE VID.

Aloha and Mahalo!!
