Aloha Friend,
Are you good enough? We ask ourself this all the time? We wonder if we have the talent. That is the question you are feeding your mind computer. Resolve the problem please. Am I good Enough? You will get an answer. It will tell what you are not good at. GUARANTEE. What if I told you that is the WRONG question?
What is the question? You ask. Well here it is: Do I want it bad enough?
If you say yes, nothing can stop you. You will be successful. First we must agree on the definition of success. The one that resonates the most with me is one from Carnegie.
Success is the progressive realization towards a worthy ideal. It qualifies it as a journey towards a goal, a dream. It helps me resolve that old age question of when to quit. Some will have you believe that quitters are not champions. I propose a different point of view. A champion knows exactly when to quit. How they know what they are doing no longer leads them to progressively realize their goals.
An example, a short player will not have the strength to necessarily move another player twice his/her size; no matter how longer they train in the gym. So at one point once they reach the max of the growth in strength ( no longer seeing progress in increased strength) the player must know to quit his actions. But not necessarily his dream.
Changing what you do is not bad at all if no progress towards realizing your goal is no longer experienced.
Einstein said it best: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting the same result.
Here is the difference; Champions will never quit their dream/goals. But they will find a way on how to get there. They will quit the road that shows no progress. They will not accept no progress. They know where the responsibility lies. They will know how bad they want it. There is a talent in all champions. They seldom know if they are talented enough.. But they know if they want it bad enough. That is the talent you must have: WANTING IT BAD ENOUGH.
Aloha and Mahalo!!
